Set-up and Usage Instructions:

To begin, install the 10 pins into the gears by inserting them into the designated holes. If a hole is difficult to reach, try adjusting the tool's position to allow for easier access. For better reach, the adjustment sleeve can be removed. Take caution when inserting the pins as they have a dulled head but can still be sharp.

With an empty portafilter basket, place the tool inside to determine if the pin height adjustment is necessary. Holding the tool under a bright light can help with this process. If adjustments are needed, hold the jam nut and rotate the adjustment sleeve to reach the desired height. Once the height is set, tighten the jam nut against the adjustment sleeve to secure its position.

Fill the portafilter with espresso grounds and place the tool on top. Rotate the tool until the white circle aligns closest to the edge of the tool. This configuration ensures that the pins are furthest from the edges, making it easier to place the tool on the portafilter without any pins getting caught outside the basket.

Spin the tool 4-8 times over the portafilter filled with espresso grounds. After the final spin, lightly tap the portafilter on the counter to settle the grounds. Give the tool one final slow spin before gently removing it from the basket. Place the tool in its stand, tamp the grounds, and proceed to brew your espresso.
